This past week, nine new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits include six projects in the Birmingham metro, one in Opelikia and two in the Huntsville area.

One of the Huntsville projects, this week’s largest permit, is for a new LivSmart Studios by Hilton hotel. Here’s what we know:

New LivSmart Studios by Hilton coming to Huntsville

A $12.4 million permit was issued July 16 for the new hotel, which will be located on Cabela Drive, close to Bridge Street Town Centre and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center

The LivSmart brand is for those seeking long-stay accommodations for 10 nights or more. Amenities include:

A full kitchen with a two-burner cooktop
Full-size refrigerator
Dishwasher
Microwave
High-quality cookware and kitchen tools
Spacious bathroom
Ample storage
Flexible furniture that allow guests to eat, work and relax comfortably.

GCC Construction is listed as the lead contractor.
