New trail alongside Tennessee River officially opens

A new trail is now open to the public in Florence, connecting River Heritage Park with the Singing River Bridge above the Tennessee River.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Sunday afternoon to celebrate the opening of what is expected to be just the first installment of the River Heritage trail. This section is about one mile long, much of it running right next to the Florence Canal.

River Heritage Trail
The trail will begin at River Heritage Park and go in a small loop before turning straight to run next to the canal. There are multiple places to stop and sit along the trail to enjoy the nature + the view.
New features at the park and along the trail include:
- Biking/walking trail
- Waterfall
- Amphitheater
