Twelve new building permits were issued this past week across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of these, five are in the Huntsville area, two are in Auburn and three are in the Birmingham metro.

One of the largest of these projects is a new middle school at Prattville Christian Academy. Here’s more:

Prattville Christian Academy Middle School permit

A new middle school building is in the works at Prattville Christian Academy, located behind the main school building on Old Farm Lane. A $4.5 million building permit was issued this past week for the project which includes:

A multipurpose room/gym for chapel, cafeteria use, fine arts events, athletics and other activities
10 new classrooms that will accommodate up to 100 more students and 900 students overall
An additional weight room

Marshall Design Build is the lead contractor for this project.
