Really? Ampm named most popular gas station in Alabama by a national website.

Ampm, a national convenience store brand that is primarily located in California, Oregon and Washington, was named the most popular gas station in Alabama in a story published by Cheapism, a national digital publication. 

They must be kidding, right? It’s true.

Alabama’s most popular gas station

In a November 27 post titled “The Most Popular Gas Station in Your Every State” – Alabama was the only state in the Cheapism story to claim ampm as its most popular gas station.

Here is what Cheapism had to say about ampm’s popularity in the Yellowhammer State.

“This is the place I remember seeing most in California when I was growing up, so once again, this is weird that belongs solely to Alabama. I see you, Alabama. Respect.”

The list is likely to come as a surprise to most Alabamians who are fans of Buc-ee’s, Circle K, QT and the new to the state Wawa c-stores. 

Conflicting number of ampm gas stations

Presently, only three ampm gas stations appear when you conduct a Google search, with locations in Muscle Shoals, Woodstock and Jefferson County.

Unfortunately, the ampm store locator does not even recognize the three stores stating:

“No stores nearby. Time to move.”

The Bama Buzz did reach the Woodstock store, which confirmed it is an ampm location.

Where did the survey come from?

Bottomline, where did the gas station survey  Cheapism used for their story come from? A gambling site called Freebets. Maybe that should have been a red flag
