Rose Bowl nail-biter ends Alabama’s exciting championship run
Reading time: 2 minutes
The University of Alabama’s trip to the Rose Bowl ended in disappointment as the Tide lost in overtime 27-20 in a back-and-forth game that included a bevy of momentum shifts.
The Crimson Tide ends its 2023 season with a 12-2 record, and looks to next year for redemption.
What do Tide fans do with their National Championship Game tickets?
With Alabama’s loss in the Rose Bowl, the National Championship Game will not include an SEC team for the first time since 2014, and Tide fans who went ahead and purchased tickets to Houston for the title game may now be left wondering what to do with those tickets.
Well, you’re in luck, Tide fans. You can sell those tickets on the NCAA Ticket Exchange site, in addition to ticket broker sites like StubHub, SeatGeek, TickPick or Vivid Seats.
What’s next for the Crimson Tide after the Rose Bowl loss?
Although the 2023 season ended in disappointment, let’s be realistic here. Did anyone think after the first four games of this season that the Tide would be playing in the College Football Playoff?
The Tide lost at home to Texas, struggled on the road against South Florida, had narrow wins against the likes of Arkansas and Auburn and often had trouble adjusting to new coordinators.
But an impressive and somewhat unlikely run after a shaky start to the season saw Bama just an overtime score away from playing for another national championship.
Bama’s Rose Bowl loss to Michigan did reiterate some of the concerns the Tide coaching staff has had all season — giving up too many sacks, mistakes at pivotal points in the game, mental errors and turnovers — but there is reason to be optimistic if you’re a Bama fan.
With a huge recruiting class coming in, the announcement by quarterback Jalen Milroe that he is returning next season and of course Nick Saban still at the helm, Alabama should feel pretty good about the 2024 season.
