Now that Thanksgiving is officially over, you have permission to put that tree up and start planning your holiday activities like visiting Santa Claus! Santa is hanging up his tool belt and hanging out in Auburn for four holiday events full of cheer. Keep reading for more details about where to snap a photo with Santa and how to support local nonprofits.

1. Santa in the Window | Behind the Glass

Santa Claus is bringing the holiday magic to downtown Auburn this weekend. Be sure to stop by Behind the Glass to visit Santa while you’re shopping the Downtown Holiday Open House on Friday, December 2 or the Holiday Market on Saturday, December 3.

Photos with Santa will be complimentary—don’t forget to bring your own camera. All donations benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lee County.

2. Snopelika | Opelika Courthouse Square

You haven’t experienced true holiday nostalgia until you’ve experience Christmas in Opelika. This Friday, bring the family out for Snopelika—a cheerful night including Opelika’s Annual Christmas Parade, Snowfall at Courthouse Square, and the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Yes, Santa will be there for the Snowfall at Courthouse Square! Bring your camera because there will be photo opps galore. After the parade, experience a snowy wonderland, Christmas music, snowball fights, food trucks and, of course, a visit with Santa.

Santa on the Corner is the perfect opportunity to get your festive holiday greeting card picture. If you’ve never been before, make it a new tradition to get your kids’ photo with Santa with the iconic Samford Hall in the background.

This holiday event is hosted by the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association and benefits United Way of Lee County. Bring your own camera for this complimentary photo op.

While you’re in downtown to visit Santa, make it an occasion by checking out the Loveliest Village Holiday Market on Saturday and the Auburn Christmas Parade on Sunday. The Auburn Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Auburn on Sunday, December 4 and will begin at 2PM.

4. Rocky Brook Rocket Reindeer Express | Opelika Municipal Park

The Opelika Park and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Rocky Brook Rocket Reindeer Express full of festive activities including free pictures with Santa.

Not only can kids tell Santa what’s on their wishlist, but they can enjoy a magical train ride that takes you through a path of Christmas scenes and decor. Not to mention there will also be food, hot chocolate, face painting, performances by local choirs and a Christmas Market full of local artisan goods.
