This restaurant first opened in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2003. In the first fourteen years of Slim Chickens opening, they opened several locations in other states and internationally in the UK and Kuwait. Fans of the restaurant call themselves Slimthusiasts.

Their menu serves fresh fried tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads and chicken and waffles. As sides, you can get mac n cheese, fried okra, fried pickles, ranch chips or the classic French fries. For that sweet tooth, they make milkshakes, fresh baked cookies and desserts in a jar. Slim Chickens has seventeen different house made sauces to choose from for your tenders, including:

Slim Chickens’ newest locations are set to open in the following cities:

Tuscaloosa
Madison
Pell City
Birmingham
Florence
Auburn

You may recall Bham Now‘s article on Slim Chickens’ plans last year. Their opening was pushed back because of COVID-19. However, it should not be long before you can satisfy your chicken cravings here in Alabama. Jackie Lobdell, vice president of Slim Chickens’ franchise development, says the Tuscaloosa location could open as early as June.

Slim Chickens has locations planned for Dothan, Enterprise, Huntsville, Montgomery and Mobile. They are also planning to set up three franchise locations in Baldwin County.
