Northport’s longtime downtown resteraunt, The Globe, was a city staple for nearly 20 years. Unfortunately, following the great recession, the Tuscaloosa eatery closed in 2009. 15 years after its closing, the revamped Globe Etcetera is returning to Tuscaloosa in a new smaller space. Chef Jeff Wilson and his partner Becky Price created the Globe Etcetera because there was a need in the Northport community. Naming off only a handful of resteraunts in the area, both cited how there was nothing different to eat.

According to Price, The Globe Etcetera has many recipees from The original Globe, but they are also adding new twists, such as seasonal desserts and salads.

From pasta to steak to curry, the menu offers customers a little bit of everything.

“There’s nothing like it in town,” Wilson said about the eatery.

Fresh, quality food on the go

Wilson says customers can trust the quality of The Globe Etcetera food.

“Everything is made here fresh,” He said, showing us how he prepares each meal.

The new location is much smaller than its predecessor, dubbed by Wilson a “food truck without wheels.”

Wilson didn’t want to open a big resteraunt. When finding the location, which is next to the Jalapeños in Northport, it was ideal for his vision.

The drive-thru with outdoor patio is perfect for people looking for a quality meal to go.
