Outdoor gyms are accessible, efficient and free
NFC has been around since 1979, when they opened the first Fitness Court in San Francisco. Their designs have continued to develop over the years to meet our changing needs. Nowadays, the company has a strong emphasis on accessibility, efficiency and convenience.
The Fitness Court has seven stations, all of which utilize your own body weight to get your sweat on. Don’t know where to start? You can download the corresponding mobile app to access a library of free workouts.
For a local touch, NFC also works with area fitness influencers and instructors to organize free group classes.
Fostering healthy, sustainable habits in Alabama
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is partnering with NFC on a statewide mission to expand free access to fitness.
Together, they’re committed to fighting obesity, improving quality of life and creating equitable access to outdoor exercise programs for Alabamians. Three cheers for a healthier, happier Alabama!
“This partnership will not only improve physical and mental wellbeing for Alabamians, but has the potential to really change the built environment in Alabama, helping encourage investment in pedestrian infrastructure and programs that encourage healthy habits and long-term behavior change.”
—Trent Matthias, Director, NFC
