Tuscaloosa has come up with a great idea that will help students who need school supplies for the upcoming 2022-23 school year

Beginning Monday, August 1st, Tuscaloosa residents can pay off $18 overtime parking tickets with a donation of school supplies valued at $10.

Got two overtime parking tickets? School supplies valued at $20 or more will be accepted in place of two $18 parking tickets.

Participants can bring their school supplies to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court at 2122 6th Street.

All received supplies will be donated to the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education and distributed to local students in need.

The program only runs between August 1st to August 31st.
