The $2.4 million is expected to provide a safe and engaging experience for students while they’re on campus. The funding will go to areas such as:

  • Recruiting full-time residential directors
  • Additional licensed counselors
  • Additional campus safety staff
  • New equipment to expand presence of safety personnel

According to the university, almost 1,000 freshmen and transfer students enrolled last fall. With two renovated dorms to be available this fall, Tuskegee is expecting to see a significant increase in on-campus housing for new + returning students.

“This investment aligns with our strategic plan and reaffirms our commitment to fostering student success and well-being by ensuring a safe and secure environment for all members of the Tuskegee University community. By bolstering counseling and mental health and wellness resources, we are steadfast in our dedication to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.”

~ Dr. Charlotte P. Morris, President of Tuskegee University
