According to USA Today 10 Best, the U.S. is home to more than 10,000 state parks and many of them cater to tent campers and RV travelers. Not surprisingly, one of Alabama’s very own is getting recognized as one of the best—the ever-popular Gulf State Park.
Gulf State Park was chosen alongside 19 other state parks including Kokee State Park in Hawaii and Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. You can help it win the number one spot by voting here. Hurry, voting ends Monday, June 20 by 11AM CST.
USA Today 10 Best will announce the winners Friday, July 1.
Why Gulf State Park? 🌳
Gulf State Park isn’t just great for enjoying the sandy waters—it has almost 500 improved RV sites with pull-thru, back-in, waterfront and ADA accessibility. In addition, all sites provide full hookups and Wi-Fi. There are 11 modern bathhouses throughout the park and some sites are located near several amenities including:
- The pool
- The playground
- Tennis courts
- Hiking trails
Visitors can swim or kayak in the Gulf of Mexico or Lake Shelby and check out the nearby fishing and educational pier.
