Though the FBS has already released its schedules for the 2024 college football season, Crimson Tide fans have their eyes on one game: the Rose Bowl. If you want to see the game in the flesh, you’ve still got a chance—but it won’t be cheap.

Let’s say…

You’re flying out of Birmingham on the December 31 and flying back on January 2. You’ve got one person with you and you’ll need to rent a car. According to Expedia, that would run you somewhere around $2,000-$2,600 for both of you—including flights, stay and vehicle rental.

But what about tickets to the game? The cheapest ones, in the upper sections, are about $550. Individual seats range up to $3,300 each, so for you and your friend you’re looking at a minimum of $1,100 for tickets.

That brings your total to about $3,500. Of course, lots of factors play into the bill—but no matter what, it’s going to be a pretty penny to see Alabama face off against Michigan.

More details on the Rose Bowl

This year’s Rose Bowl, taking place on New Year’s Day 2024, will be the 110th Annual. If you’re considering making the trip, you probably already know these details, but let’s get a quick overview:

  • Date: Monday, January 1, 4PM CST
  • Location: Rose Bowl | Pasadena, California
  • Matchup: Alabama Crimson Tide (4) versus Michigan Wolverines (1)

If Alabama wins, they’ll land a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship versus the winner of the Allstate Sugar Bowl—either Washington or Texas. The national championship will take place in Houston, Texas on January 8, 2024.

Built over 100 years ago in 1922, the Rose Bowl is a football icon where some of the biggest games in college football history have taken place. One of those games was in 2010, when Alabama won its first championship under Coach Nick Saban. Over a decade later, Alabama is looking to secure another national title by way of the iconic Rose Bowl.

If you’re looking to know more about Alabama’s Rose Bowl history (and impress your Crimson Tide fan friends this holiday season), we’ve got you covered.
