Wawa breaks ground on first Mobile location — 7 to 10 stores coming

Wawa, the popular Mid-Atlantic and Florida convenience store chain, broke ground at its first location in Mobile today.

The future Mobile site is located at 7095 Cottage Hill Road, Mobile, AL 36695.

Wawa plans to build 7 to 10 stores

Earlier this year, Wawa announced plans to build 7 to 10 new stores in the Mobile and Baldwin county region. The first stores slated to open in 2024 include the Mobile Cottage Hill Road location and the Fairhope, 18968 Greeno Road store. Construction at the Fairhope site began in June.

At the groundbreaking, Wawa presented a $5,000 grant to Feeding the Gulf Coast to provide 25,000 meals for individuals and families facing hunger across the community.
