Aldridge Gardens in Hoover

  • Where: 3530 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216
  • When: 8AM-7PM daily
  • Features: Aldridge has a long list of events set for the summer including the 21st annual Hydrangeas Under the Stars, guided bird watching walks + summer camps for kids.

Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile

  • Where: 12401 Bellingrath Gardens Road, Theodore, AL 36582
  • When: 8AM-5PM daily
  • Features: The summer will have several plants blooming including Crepe Myrtles + Tropical Hibiscus. You will also want to stop by to see the Bellingrath Rose Garden and the iconic Mirror Lake.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

  • Where: 2612 Lane Park Road, Birmingham, AL 35223
  • When: 7AM-6PM daily
  • Features: From weekly Storytime at the Gardens to studying the science of the plants, there are events for all ages throughout the summer.

Davis Aroboretum in Auburn

  • When: Sunrise to sunset, daily
  • Features: The Arboretum includes walking trails, different water features and a nationally accredited Oak tree collection including the 150-year-old Founders Oak.

Dothan Area Botanical Gardens

  • Where: 5130 Headland Ave Kinsey, AL 36303
  • When: 9AM-6PM daily
  • Features: Currently, there is the Butterfly Discovery Center at the gardens, open until October. This summer’s events include a hummingbird banding program this weekend + there are new amaryllis flower beds to see.

Huntsville Botanical Gardens

  • Where: 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35805
  • When: 9AM-6PM, Monday-Tuesday | 9AM-8PM, Wednesday-Saturday | 11AM-6PM, Sunday
  • Features: The summer will feature cat days on Mondays and dog days on Thursdays where you can bring your pet to the garden for an additional $5. The gardens also currently feature the traveling Glass in Flight exhibit.

Mobile Botanical Gardens
