Your guide to celebrating the 4th of July in Alabama

Next week, we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence and that means one thing: fireworks.

There are plenty of spots across Alabama you can find a show to celebrate the Fourth of July. We’ve gathered up a list of 12 events that you can learn more about before deciding what you want to do with your holiday.

Independence Day Extravaganza in Mobile

  • Where: 2703 Battleship Pkwy, Mobile, AL 36602
  • When: 6-9:30PM
  • Events: Head over to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park for a night of live music, games, activities and a firework show. Fireworks will begin at 9PM. You are encouraged to bring your own chairs.

Baseball + fireworks in Montgomery

  • Where: 200 Coosa St, Montgomery, AL 36104 | Riverwalk Stadium
  • When: Gates at 5:30PM
  • Events: The Pensacola Blue Wahoos will be in town to play against the Montgomery Biscuits. The game will include a Fourth of July t-shirt giveaway and a postgame firework show put on in conjunction with the city. The fireworks can also be seen from Riverfront Park.

If you’re in Montgomery, you can also head down to Riverfront Park for BBQ, Brews and Blues featuring a performance from The Voice winner and Selma native Asher HaVon.

41st annual Spirit of Freedom Celebration in Florence

  • Where: 200 James M Spain Dr, Florence, AL 35630 | McFarland Park
  • When: 11AM-9PM
  • Events: The park will be filled with activities all day with live music starting at 3PM. Fireworks over the river will begin around 9PM.

Independence Day in Auburn

  • Where: 1840 East Glenn Avenue | Duck Samford Stadium at Auburn High School
  • When: Gates open at 5PM
  • Events: Giveaways, inflatables, live music and plenty of food will be on hand + a special appearance from Aubie. Fireworks will begin around 9PM and the city says you will be able to see the show from as far as the Auburn Mall parking lot.

Freedom Festival 2024 in Oxford

  • Where: 401 McCullars Lane, Oxford, AL 36203
  • When: Parade at 9AM | Fireworks at 9PM
  • Events: It’s a full day of activities at the Oxford Civic Center and Oxford Lake. It will include an antique car show, carnival games, a petting zoo, swim races + food vendors before capping the night with fireworks over the lake.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Daphne

  • Where: 8600 Whispering Pines Rd, Daphne, AL 36526 | Al Trione Sports Complex
  • When: 9PM
  • Events: The fireworks show will be set to music that people can listen to from their car on 95.5 FM.

4th of July Ag Parade + Fireworks in Headland

  • Where: 312 E Main St, Headland, AL 36345 | Douglas Park
  • When: 4-9PM
  • Events: Enjoy the Ag parade through Headland’s Downtown Square before settling in at the park for the fireworks show just before 9PM. The event will include food trucks, balloon animals + all the local shops and restaurants available to explore.

Celebration on the River in Tuscaloosa

  • Where: 2710 Jack Warner Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 | Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre
  • When: 6-9:30PM
  • Events: This is free to the public and will include kids’ activities + a DJ set before the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra performs. Once they finish, fireworks will begin around 9PM.

Fireworks over the Coosa in Gadsden

  • Where: 200 Lake St, Gadsden, AL 35903
  • When: 9PM
  • Events: The fireworks show can be viewed from several spots around downtown Gadsden including Convention Hall, Mort Glosser Amphitheater and the Coosa Landing parking lots.

4th of July fireworks + music in Eclectic

  • Where: 8878 Kowaliga Road, Eclectic, AL 36024 | The AMP on Lake Martin
  • When: Doors at 5PM
  • Events: Tickets are $10 for the event which will include a show by The Bank Walkers and former American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. Fireworks will begin around 9PM.

Fireworks in Gulf Shores

  • Where: 20800 E Beach Blvd, Gulf Shores, AL 36542
  • When: 9PM
  • Events: Fireworks will be shot from the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier. Spectators are encouraged to gather at the Gulf State Park and the eastern area of the Gulf Shores Public Beach for the best viewing experience.

Freedom on the River in Demopolis

  • Where: 1 Childers St, Demopolis, AL 36732
  • When: 5-9PM
  • Events: Children’s events will include arts + crafts, a water slide and a foam machine followed by a children’s parade at 7PM. Fireworks will begin at 8:30PM.
