3 downtown Mobile bars to visit during Mardi Gras
Today is the day, Mobile! Mardi Gras parades are kicking off today, starting with the Conde Cavaliers parade along Route A at 6:30PM tonight. Since we all know Mardi Gras is a celebration of debauchery and revelry, you’re probably going to want to dip into a bar for a libation of sorts.
We’ve got you covered, with three bars along parade routes in downtown Mobile to dip into for a drink before getting back to your parade.
1. Haley’s Bar
- Where: 278 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL, 36602
- Closest parade route: Route A
- Hours: 12PM-4AM, every day
- Drink recommendation: great stop for a quick local beer like one from Oyster City Brewing Co.
If you want a classic dive bar experience, you’ve found the place! Haley’s bar downtown is central to all the Mardi Gras action, so much so that they have a Mardi Gras mural adorning the side of the building. Their full bar, low prices and fun atmosphere will have you coming back for more all Mardi Gras long
2. POST
- Where: 571 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL, 36602
- Closest parade route: Route A
- Hours: Mon-Thurs: 4PM-12AM | Fri & Sat: 2PM-2AM | Closed Sun
- Drink recommendation: The ”We Did It First” a yummy Mobile-take on a Moscow Mule
We know screaming for beads can get tiring, so if you’re looking for somewhere to stop in for a quick bite and Mardi Gras themed drinks, POST is your place. They have a full bar, specialty cocktails, wines by the bottle & glass and some delicious snacks. It’s a great place to refuel between parades before hitting the streets once more.
