5 exciting + spooky October events in Auburn for all ages

October is here, which means spooky fall vibes have arrived. In the season full of Halloween festivities, Auburn has a lot to offer. Keep reading for exciting events that all ages can enjoy.
1. Choctafaula Pumpkin Patch
This pumpkin patch has been an Auburn favorite since 2020. If you’re looking to get in the Halloween mood, this little slice of fall vibes is perfect.
Choctafaula Pumpkin Patch offers several activities that include a petting zoo, wagon ride, rock wall, inflatables, mechanical bull, fall market, bar, pony rides and more. Pumpkins are available for purchase for $6.

2. Botanic Fall Festival
The Botanic Fall Festival is the perfect oppurtunity to fill your day with family, fun and fall treats. Activities for all ages include face painting and games for the kiddos and live music and drinks for the adults.
The whole family and any friend group can enjoy festive and fun treats, free hayrides, cornhole and pumpkin picking.

3. Pine Hill Cemetery Lantern Tour
Auburn has some spooky history, and you have the chance to explore a bit of it at Pine Hill Cemetery—Auburn’s oldest cemetery. On their family-friendly lantern tour, cemetery “residents” tell the story of early Auburn.
Hear from founder Judge John Harper and others, see where five university presidents rest and learn intriguing facts about Auburn’s past. This is a walking tour through this historic cemetery is lit with candles, making for a spooky yet beautiful event.
Parking will be available at East Samford School, and you can walk to the complimentary trolley or the cemetery.

4. Kreher’s Enchanted Forest and Nature Nightmares Hike
This family-friendly Halloween event takes you on a magical hike in Kreher’s Enchanted Forest where you will meet costumed forest friends who explain how they “trick or treat” plants and animals in the forest.
Don’t forget your costumes, good walking shoes and a flashlight. Hot chocolate and s’mores kits will be available for sale if you want to add to your enchantingly spooky hiking experience.
Hikes depart every 10 minutes and last approximately 45 to 55 minutes. Each time slot is limited to 25 people. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your start time.
For those who want to be more frightened than enchanted, Kreher offers a Nature Nightmare Hike. Nature Nightmares is a haunted hike through the pitch-black forest with evil creatures lurking in the shadows.
Please remember that Nature Nightmares is a self-guided tour with high-impact scares, fog, strobe lights and theatrical odors. Attendees must be 13 years of age or older (an adult must accompany anyone under 19 years of age).
Similar to the Enchanted Hike, hikes depart every 10 minutes and last approximately 45 to 55 minutes. Each time slot is limited to 25 people. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your start time.
