A key member of the Alabama Crimson Tide offense is reportedly transferring to Michigan, the team Alabama will face in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

Sophomore running back Justice Haynes, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound star from Buford, Georgia, has decided to transfer to Michigan, according to a report from On3 Sports. Haynes played in 25 games for the Crimson Tide during his two seasons on the team, splitting time with fellow running back Jam Miller.

Haynes joins a list of Alabama players who have entered the transfer portal since the end of the season, including wide receivers Caleb Odom, Kobe Prentice and Kendrick Law, cornerback DeVonta Smith, athlete Emmanuel Henderson, and defensive linemen Damon Payne Jr. and Jaheim Oatis.

How will this impact Alabama?

While he will be able to give his new teammates valuable information about Alabama, Haynes will not be eligible to play for Michigan in the bowl game but will be eligible to join the team for the 2025 football season.

As for Alabama, Jam Miller will return next season for the Crimson Tide alongside returning freshman Richard Young and four other new additions to the roster for 2025.
