While all eyes were on the College Football Playoff selection show Sunday, the rest of the bowl games were getting together to select their own matchup.

And the matchup is set for Mobile’s featured game. Here’s what you need to know:

There will be three bowl games in Alabama this year with the Salute to Veterans Bowl in Montgomery kicking things off on Dec. 14. Almost two weeks later, the 68 Ventures Bowl in Mobile and the Birmingham Bowl will be played on back-to-back days.

This is the 26th edition of the bowl game in Mobile which has gone by several different names including:

Mobile, Alabama Bowl
GMAC Bowl
GoDaddy.com Bowl
Dollar General Bowl
LendingTree Bowl
68 Ventures Bowl

Both teams enter the postseason with a 7-5 overall record.

Arkansas State is making its fifth appearance in the bowl, the most of any team. The Red Wolves visited Mobile every season from 2011 to 2014, winning two of those four appearances.

Bowling Green is 1-2 in the bowl game, last making the trip to Mobile in 2015. The Falcons won five of its final six games and had a pair of one-possession losses to Penn State and Texas A&M early in the season.
