Mobile Mysticks return: Pro hockey team name + logo unveiled

On Tuesday, June 16, it was announced that the Mobile Mysticks professional ice hockey team will be returning, with a new look.
The name and logo were unveiled during a projected video at the Mobile Convention Center to a large crowd — most already wearing their Mysticks gear in anticipation.

The history of the Mobile Mysticks

The Mobile Mysticks were originally established in 1995 as a professional minor ice hockey team with the ECHL. Their name originated as a nod to Mobile’s historical mystic societies — the social organizations that host Carnival balls and parades during Mardi Gras.
The original Mysticks team lasted until 2002, when the franchise suspended operations following a season where they failed to make the playoffs.
