Freeze’s record as a head coach is 76–47. He is 5-2 in bowl games. He just finished his 4th season at Liberty with an 8-4 record.
The choice of Freeze is not without some controversy. In 2016, he left the University of Mississippi after a number of academic and recruiting violations were discovered.
Poll: Overwhelming Support for Cadillac
The decision to hire Freeze also comes after several newspaper colunists and former Auburn Head Coach and now U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville endorsed interim Head Coach and former player Carnell “Cadillac” Williams for the position.
Despite a 22-point loss to arch-rival Alabama on Saturday, Williams continued up to Monday as the fan’s favorite.

Williams to Stay?
Will Coach Williams remain at Auburn? We should know soon. CBS Sports is reporting he may stay. If he does, that will be a big coup for the Auburn Tigers.
