After a temporary hiatus, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is back at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The Hope Hull native’s hit song has now been in the top spot for 25 weeks, extending her all-time record which was set earlier this year.

The song debuted on the Hot 100 back in November 2025. It became Langley’s fifth career entry on the chart but it quickly became her most successful, making the top 10 in January and taking the No. 1 spot in February.

Just over a year since its release, “Choosin’ Texas” remains one of the most popular songs across all genres. According to Billboard, it totaled 20 million official streams, 58.6 million radio airplay audience impressions and 4,000 sold in the United States Oct. 16-22, 2026.

“Choosin’ Texas” accounted for three of Langley’s record nine CMA nominations including:

  • Single of the Year
  • Song of the Year
  • Music Video of the Year

The single dropped to No. 4 following a record-tying 26 weeks atop the Streaming Songs chart while holding at No. 2 on Radio Songs chart.

Langley’s record of 25 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 is now three ahead of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

But the holidays are just around the corner and “Choosin’ Texas” will have to hold strong in the coming weeks to hold on to the record.

In each of the last two years, Mariah Carey returned to the top of the charts for three weeks but not until later in December. That could allow Langley to build on her record over the next few weeks.
