Guntersville named best lake town in Alabama–3 reasons why we love it too

Far and Wide, a travel media company, has named Guntersville the best lake town in Alabama. (Not to mention, Southern Living named it one of the best lake towns in the South!) Keep reading for 3 reasons why we think its pretty great too.
1. Time to adventure
You will never find yourself bored in the charming town of Guntersville. There is something for everyone! There are places to swim, kayak, fish, hike and just about anything you can think of. We’ve come up with some of our favorite things to do in the lake town:
- Fish (on the radar again, named the best spot for bass fishing in the state!)
- Check out Lake Guntersville State Park

- Zipline at Screaming Eagle

- Hours: 9:30AM-4:30PM
- Obviously, relax enjoy the water!
2. The food (always)
You know we’re a sucker for a good meal here at The Bama Buzz. It is no wonder Lake Guntersville is such a hot spot right now, the food scene is amazing! Here are some of our favorite spots to eat during a day at the lake:

3. Shopping
For those of us who do need to get out of the sun sometimes, shopping is the perfect break. Shopping in Guntersville is an antique lover’s dream. King Row’s Antiques, Antiques and Sweets and Southern Traditions Antique Mall are only a few of the spots to hunt for your favorite antique finds. Don’t forget to stop at Bakers on Main and visit one of their 25 retail shops!
We’re also counting down to the opening of City Harbor on the lake, which will bring even more unique stores to the town.
We could go on for hours about all the fun things to do around Lake Guntersville. It’s no shock that it’s been called “Alabama’s Lake City.” The lake, endless activities, food, shopping and beautiful views. What more could you want in a town?
