It’s time for another week of college football that gets started early as a weeknight game may be the biggest of the week for our in-state teams.

Wednesday night, Jacksonville State plays at Liberty in a crucial matchup for Conference USA. But that’s just the start of an important week for a lot of our teams as many of them are hoping to use some midseason momentum to kickstart the month of November.

Keep reading to find out more about Wednesday night’s game + see the complete schedule for the weekend.

Jax State at Liberty

After starting the season 0-3, Jacksonville State has reeled off four consecutive victories including a 3-0 start to conference play. Over the last four games, the Gamecocks have outscored their opponents by 34.8 points per game.

However, Wednesday will certainly be the team’s toughest C-USA test to date.

Liberty was one of the preseason favorites to be the Group of 5 champion to make the expanded College Football Playoff but that dream may be out the window now. Last week, the Flames were defeated by previously winless Kennesaw State, a team Jax State defeated by 39 points earlier this month.

The Gamecocks actually opened as a 1.5-point favorite in this matchup but that line has shifted to Liberty now being a 2-point favorite.

Both teams are likely a little disappointed with their records entering Week 9, but this game will still play a key role in determining who will play in the Conference USA Championship Game.

Week 10 schedule

I don’t know if you’re as tired as Hugh Freeze is when it comes to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia but you’ll be hearing about him plenty again this week. Pavia, who led New Mexico State to a win at Jordan-Hare Stadium last season, is bringing his Vanderbilt Commodores to The Plains this weekend.
