Jack’s new location is its first in Baldwin County

Jack’s Family Restaurants recently opened a new location in Loxley, which is the Alabama-based quick service restaurant chain’s first location in Baldwin County.

The Loxley location opened Feb. 12.

Surprisingly, since Jack’s is an Alabama-based chain, this new Loxley location is the first one in Baldwin County. Construction on the new restaurant began in early January, and the restaurant had a soft opening Friday, Feb. 9. It officially opened for business Monday.

An Alabama-grown business

The chain started in 1960 with its first restaurant in Homewood. The restaurant started out specializing in burgers but eventually started offering other items — notable fried chicken which the chain has also become known for — and has expanded over the last few decades.

The chain now operates nearly 200 locations in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi.
