Mobile’s 68 Ventures Bowl selects South Alabama to play Eastern Michigan

The 68 Ventures Bowl selection committee chose the University of South Alabama (USA) to play Eastern Michigan University in the silver anniversary edition of the Mobile bowl game.

The Jaguars and Eagles will meet at Hancock Whitney Stadium in the Port City on Saturday, December 23 at 6PM. The game will be televised on ESPN.

“It is a special year for us, as we celebrate our 25th year of providing great match-ups and bringing the postseason, Bowl Season, to Mobile, Alabama. The game is proud to welcome back to the city of Mobile, Eastern Michigan and to have South Alabama making their first appearance.

USA will be playing their fourth bowl in their school history. The upstart Jaguars pulled one of the biggest upsets in college football this year, defeating Big 12 Conference runner-up Oklahoma State University 33-7. 

Eastern Michigan finished third in the Mid-American Conference West Division.  

The Eagles have gone “bowling” six out of the last eight years. This is their second time to play in Mobile.
