New $20M clean water facility opens in Gadsden

A manufacturer that builds clean water systems opened a new facility this week in Gadsden.
Pencco, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of water, wastewater and odor and corrosion control treatment solutions held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new $20 million facility located at 3500 Michael Ann Avenue in the “City of Champions.”
Bringing 40 jobs to Gadsden
Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford welcomed the new facility which is expected to bring 40 high-paying jobs to the community.

The Gadsden facility will manufacture specialty materials used by municipal and industrial customers throughout Alabama and the Southeast to treat water and wastewater systems.

Gadsden is on a roll


The city of Gadsden has recently made a number of big economic developments announcements.
In March, the Taiwan-based global automotive supplier Minth Group Limited announced it is investing $430 million to transform a 400-acre Gadsden brownfield site into a high-tech manufacturing flagship.
In August 2025, Takkion, a global renewable energy logistics company, also committed to create a storage and handling hub for renewable energy materials—primarily solar panels— destined for clean energy projects across the country.
Locally, the month, the city announced it is building an $82 million Sports Complex.
