New pickleball facility coming to OWA + updates on Alabama’s pickleball scene
As pickleball keeps exploding in popularity throughout both Alabama and the rest of the nation, OWA Parks & Resort—a popular tourist designation in Foley—is hopping on the bandwagon and constructing a brand-new facility devoted to the sport. Keep reading for all the details.
The new indoor pickleball facility at OWA
Downtown OWA, already filled with attractions, will soon feature an indoor pickleball facility complete with four courts. The $600,000 project will be located across from the OWA Theater and is set to open in February 2024, according to a release from OWA.

The pickleball craze across Alabama
Across the state, pickle ball’s popularity is catching on, evidenced by tons of new courts + facilities:
- A new store devoted to all things pickleball just opened in Auburn.
- A state-of-the-art regional sports complex, including pickleball courts, is coming to Oneonta.
