State’s focus turns to college basketball as teams start conference play

While games may still be happening around the country, football season is officially over in Alabama. But that just means it’s time to turn your attention to the hardwood.
January marks the start of conference play for most of our in-state teams including Auburn and Alabama, who both enter SEC play ranked in the top five of the latest AP Poll.
The first weekend of the month is providing college basketball fans with a loaded slate of games happening right here at home. Keep reading to see the full schedule.
Men’s college basketball
It’s going to be a busy Saturday across the state. Six men’s teams are playing at home this weekend including the Tide and Tigers, who will be playing a double header on SEC Network.

Women’s college basketball
This weekend’s schedule for the women teams are split between two days. Some schools are hosting double headers this weekend with the women’s games scheduled just before the men’s game tips off.
