Going on year ten, the Tuscaloosa tinsel trail has been a favorite for years. Featuring a display of over 200 live, decorated trees that will light up Government’s Plaza. The Tinsel Trail is free any time of the day or night, each tree is sponsored and decorated by a local business. All proceeds will support family programs and serve our local community.

Not exactly lights, but the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater itself. Tuscaloosa’s seasonal ice skating rink will return at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater until January 15th. Decorated with holiday characters and hourly “snow flurries”, you won’t want to miss out on this awesome event. Plus there will be various musical and dancer performances, as well as holiday film showings and carriage rides.

3. Christmas Afloat

Christmas Afloat is a free lighted boat parade organized by the Pirates of the Warrior. With magical light up boats along the Black Warrior River, it’s a guaranteed good time. In the past, about 10 to 15 boats have participated in Christmas Afloat. The best places for viewing include the riverwalk, the farmer’s market and the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.

4. Bearden Christmas Lights

The Bearden family Christmas lights were noticed by a viewer in Bibb County for a renowned Christmas light display. The Bearden’s encourage everyone to come out to the display any day between 5-11PM. When you arrive, tune into 90.1 FM on your radio to enjoy a fun light show synced to the music! This long time family tradition is something you cannot miss.
