The best dog bar in the country could be in Mobile—vote now!

USA Today readers love Alabama, it seems. That’s why Alabama icons like the Hugh S Branyon Backcountry Trail and Orange Beach keep raking nods as the best in the country.

Well, now it’s Mobile’s turn. HopHounds, a brewpub that caters to your pup, is up for the USA Today reader’s choice award for “Best Dog Bar.” It’s currently in 18th place, but you can help it make the final cut.

Introducing HopHounds Brewpub

Started back in 2020, HopHounds has been a staple for downtown dog owners to enjoy their favorite drink + spend time with their pups.

Lots of bars downtown have a “patio” space that actually takes up a portion of the sidewalk or the roadway. So while the space may technically be “dog-friendly”, your rambunctious puppy may not have the best time.

That’s where HopHounds can create the perfect vibe. Humans have everything they’re looking for in a bar experience from live music to drink specials, and the dogs have a place to run free. You’ll find an 8,000sqft. astroturf running area, pools to cool down and tons of doggie friends for your pet to become besties with.

What to know before you visit

If HopHounds sounds like something your dog would love, there are a few things to know before packing up the car.

All dogs require proof of vaccination to play. You can purchase day passes or enroll as a member. When you’re a member, you can register your dog’s vaccinations at the park, so you don’t have to bring proof each time.

HopHounds also offers doggy daycare.
