What you need to know ahead of College Gameday’s trip to Auburn

With the college football season in the books, ESPN has fully turned its attention to the hardwood and that means the channel’s College Gameday show is shifting from the football field to the arena, starting with a trip to The Plains.
Rece Davis, Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg, Andraya Carter and Jay Williams + the rest of the College Gameday crew will set up inside Neville Arena. Students and fans are encourage to attend to fill the seats while the show will happen from the floor.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Who: #6 Tennessee Volunteers (17-4, 4-2 SEC) at #1 Auburn Tigers (17-1, 5-0 SEC)
- When: College Gameday at 10AM | Tip off at 7:30PM
- Where: Neville Arena | 250 Beard-Eaves Court, Auburn, AL 36830

ESPN’s College Gameday
The trip will mark the fifth time Auburn has hosted the pregame program and fifth appearance overall, while the Vols will be making their ninth all-time appearance.
While this event would usually cause a mass amount of Auburn students to be camped outside the arena in the nights leading up to the big game, a winter storm has changed those plans.
The university said it will not be allowing people to camp outside the arena due to the cold weather but they do have a plan in place. According to a post on social media:
- The BEST way to ensure attendance at Auburn vs. Tennessee is to attend College Gameday
- Due to anticipated extreme temperatures overnight Thursday and Friday, camping WILL NOT be permitted in advance of any of this weekend’s events
- Official line opens at 6:30AM
- Doors open at 7AM

Tennessee at Auburn
Top-10 matchups are becoming the norm for this season in the SEC but Saturday’s meeting between Auburn and Tennessee feels like the biggest to happen so far.
Both teams have been ranked No. 1 in the country this season with Auburn currently holding that spot, taking over for the Vols two weeks ago. Tennessee has dropped to No. 6 after a pair of losses in conference play, both of them coming on the road.
Auburn enters Saturday night riding a 10-game winning streak which has included a 5-0 start in SEC play. The Tigers are the only team still unbeaten in the SEC.
This season, Bruce Pearl’s team has defeated six ranked teams including two top-10 teams.
