Winter Storm 2025: List of Alabama schools and government offices closing January 21-22

Numerous schools, local government offices and community agencies are closing across Central Alabama and South Alabama on Tuesday, January 21 in preparation for a winter storm.
On Monday, Governor Kay Ivey declared a State of Emergency covering 39 Alabama counties.
The National Weather Service Birmingham and Mobile has also issued a Winter Storm Warning from Montgomery to Mobile and Dothan.

School closings for January 21-22
- Sumter County
- Randolph County
- Pike County
- Henry County
- Dothan
- Clarke County
- Butler County
- Montgomery Public Schools
All State Offices are closed January 21-22 in the following counties under Governor Ivey’s State of Emergency declaration.
Autauga, Baldwin, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Butler, Chambers, Chilton, Choctaw, Clarke, Coffee, Conecuh, Coosa, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Dallas, Elmore, Escambia, Geneva, Greene, Hale, Henry, Houston, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Mobile, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Sumter, Tallapoosa, Washington, and Wilcox.
