WorldAtlas has ranked another Alabama town as the “best of”—let’s see if you can guess:
- It’s home to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
- The name is pretty literal
- It’s home to the yearly National Shrimp Festival
If you guessed Gulf Shores, come on down! If you didn’t, no worries—keep reading and you’ll see why WorldAtlas loves our little “Pleasure Island” so much.
WorldAtlas + Gulf Shores
Locals and repeat visitors know there’s nothing else quite like Gulf Shores. Sure, you can find lovely seasides elsewhere—but the cross-section of beachfront fun, entertainment options and beautifully protected lands is unmatched.
WorldAtlas gave special mention to the downtown area, too:
“The downtown core of Gulf Shores is highly walkable, with beaches, restaurants, and resorts all within a short distance, given the narrow nature of the spit the town rests on.”
