10 new million-dollar-plus construction projects approved in Alabama

This past week saw 10 new building permits issued for million-dollar-plus construction projects in the state, with four of those projects occurring in North Alabama, and the remainder issued in the central part of the state.
Here’s what we know about these projects:
New free-standing ER facility in North Alabama
One of the priciest of this week’s new building projects in Alabama is the new free-standing emergency room facility from Crestwood Medical Center, which is located at 1337 Burwell Rd in Harvest, Alabama.
The nearly $10 million project includes an 11,000-square-foot facility equipped to treat patients with illnesses and injuries that require a higher level of care than urgent care facilities offer.
Features of the new facility include:
- 10 private patient rooms, including a specialized trauma room
- Decontamination/Isolation room
- Helipad
- Lab and blood bank services
- Imaging Services:
- CT Scanner
- Ultrasound
- X-Ray
Doster Construction is the contractor for this project, which is supposed to be completed some time in 2024.
