It’s a question that Hugh Freeze has faced multiple this week as the Auburn Tigers get ready to take on Kentucky. But so far, there has not been a clear answer.
“We’re looking for a spark. Ashton has the capacity to play really well. It’s going to be a tough call. I’m not quite ready to make it yet. I have confidence in both of them.”

Daniels came in during the second half of last week’s win over Arkansas, totaling 112 yards of total offense + leading 5 scoring drives.
The Tigers are one of several in-state teams looking to build off recent wins as the final month of the regular season officially starts Saturday.

Week 10 schedule
Six of the state’s nine teams in action this week are coming off wins including:
- Auburn’s first SEC win
- UAB’s first win under interim coach Alex Mortensen
- South Alabama ending a 6-game losing streak
- Alabama State’s win in the Magic City Classic
Jax State, who remains unbeaten in Conference USA play, gets the weekend started early with a trip to play Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday night. That game is scheduled to kick off 6:30PM on ESPN2.
