Boys + Girls Club of West Alabama among new building permits

A new renovation project for the Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama is one of the new building permits this week. (BGCWA)

This week, 15 new building permits were issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Most of these projects are in the Birmingham metro, while two of them are in Tuscaloosa.

Renovations underway at Boys + Girls Club of West Alabama

A permit for $1.6 million was issued this past week for a renovation project at the Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama. The renovations include:

  • New entry featuring enhanced security measures
  • New cafeteria
  • Teen learning center
  • Administrative offices
  • New restrooms
  • New gym floors

Ground was broken on the renovation project last week. Snow Blakeney Construction is the lead contractor on this project.
