‘Access, inclusion, and innovation’
The venue officially opened on October 8, 1915 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
The city hopes the renovations will not only help sustain and preserve the historic building but allow the opera house to continue hosting concerts, shows + other events.
Many of these renovations at the Dothan Opera House are clear when you’re just driving through town but several improvements were made inside too. The renovation project included:
- Audio-visual upgrades
- Back-of-house improvements
- Event plaza
- Expanded lobby

- Outdoor dining space
- Outdoor performance area
There is already a full list of events scheduled throughout the summer.
