Florence breaks ground on new $9.4M Pickleball/Tennis complex

Groundbreaking Veterans Memorial Park (City of Florence)

The city of Florence has begun construction of a new $9.4 million state of the art Pickleball/Tennis Complex at Veterans Memorial Park.

Today, Mayor Andrew Betterton, Florence City Council, Florence Parks and Recreation Department and community leaders broke ground on the project which is expected to be completed in 2025.

The new complex features:

  • 12 hard tennis courts, known for their superior quality and durability
  • 6 clay tennis courts, offering a premium playing experience
  • 16 covered pickleball courts, ensuring playability in various weather conditions.
  • 6 uncovered pickleball courts, providing additional space for outdoor recreation.
  • Pro-shop & restroom facility

Pickleball craze hits Alabama

Florence is not the only Alabama municipality building new Pickleball courts.
