New Central Alabama Community College location opens in Prattville
*ring ring* Class is officially in session for the new Central Alabama Community College in Prattville. Right on time for the spring semester, the doors have opened and students are back to the books. Keep reading for more on the upgraded facility.
The new school in town 🏫
While Central Alabama Community College (CACC) has been located in Prattville since 2018, limited space and increased enrollment pushed them to move to a larger building.
After a $4M investment from Autauga County Commission and Prattville City Council, students are finally able to attend classes in a vastly improved environment.
According to the CACC website, the expansive facility is 50,000 square feet and sits on 124 acres. Talk about a major upgrade—their previous location was in the Pratt’s Mill Shopping Center.
More classes in session 🎒
Increased workspace is not the only benefit of the upgraded CACC location. The fresh facility will allow them to provide course offerings and expand current programs. Now they have weekend/evening offerings in:
- Computer Information Systems
- General business
- Industrial Electronics
- Medical Assisting
- Practical Nursing
Plus, they’ll offer certifications in Medication Aide and Phlebotomy.
Time to hit the books 📚
“We’re going to be focused on academics. We’re going to be focused on meeting with individuals from companies, business and making solutions. And then our job is simply changing lives and being that economic engine that we need in this River Region.”
Jeff Lynn, CACC President, as quoted by WSFA 12
Now you can find the Prattville campus at 1320 Old Ridge Rd.
Classes have already begun for the spring semester, but if you see yourself as a future Trojan, you can apply to CACC here.
