Reading time: 2 minutes
The late, great Jimmy Buffett continues to have his legacy honored in Alabama. And The Wharf in Orange Beach keeps expanding.
This time, both of those worlds are collaborating—with a Margaritaville Resort coming to The Wharf in 2029.
Keep reading for all the details on the new space.
More than just a resort
Many have wondered what would happen to a swath of land along the Intracoastal Waterway from The Wharf after the Bama Bayou was demolished. Now we know.
Margaritaville Resort Orange Beach is set to take up a whopping 70 acres of land, including amenities like:
- The oasis deck – complete with pool, waterslides + live entertainment
- The Waterfront District – with restaurants, activities, retail + boat slips
A variety of rooms are planned at the facility, like:
- Single-family resort cottages
- Luxury waterfront condominiums
- Hotel-style resort units
An on-site ferry will shuttle guests from the resort across the water to The Wharf for even more opportunities for fun.
Officials hope to break ground in summer of 2025. In 2027, the first phase of the resort will open, with the full opening slated for 2029.
