Last week, Comedian Katt Williams revealed details on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon about why he plans to build a movie studio at the former Fort McClellan in Anniston.

Read on to learn more.

Katt Williams: Movie studio announcement

Remember back in November when in an interview with GQ Williams teased the public about his intentions to build a studio at a former Alabama military base?

It made headlines everywhere.

In fact, The Bama Buzz wrote — Is the Katt out of the bag? Where in Alabama is the comedy superstar building his studio?

For the record, we correctly guessed Fort McClellan.

Why Alabama? Katt Williams tells Fallon

Now, nearly five months later, Williams described to Fallon what motivated him to come to Alabama.

Here is the interview with Fallon:

Fallon: I heard you bought a military base in Alabama, is that true?

Williams: As starving comedians would do.

Fallon: I don’t know if you are being truthful or not. Did you really buy one?

Williams: Yeah, Fort McClellan.

Fallon: What!

Williams: Because the reason why my life works well in golf and on the golf course is because I follow instruction well. If I see somebody do a good job, I just want to do a good job. I want to follow the example. So, Tyler Perry got a military base, made it into a movie studio and started making movies. Katt Williams… (applause)

Fallon: You making movies?

Williams: I’m not wearing dresses! Yeah, and you are invited to film out there.

Tonight Show coming to Alabama

Let’s hope Jimmy Fallon takes up Katt Williams on his offer. We can see it now — Tonight Show spending a week at the McClellan! Now that would put the studio on the map!
