This week, 13 new building permits were issued for million-dollar-plus construction projects throughout the state of Alabama. Included among these new projects are four permits issued in North Alabama and seven in the Birmingham metro.

Wellstone Behavioral Health

WellStone is building an urgently needed inpatient mental health care center for children, the first facility of its kind in North Alabama. Ground was broken on the new facility Friday.

Here are some quick facts:

This is a 24-bed, 12,000 sq. ft. mental healthcare center
It will stand adjacent to WellStone Emergency Services for adults at 4020 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35802
The facility is expected to be completed in 2024
