16 new million-dollar construction permits approved in Alabama, April 26th

We’ve got the inside scoop on 16 new million-dollar-plus construction permits awarded to contractors in Alabama last week, including several exciting projects in Huntsville. Keep reading for information like contractor names, contracts, permits values, project addresses and much more.
1. A 290-unit Luxury Apartment Complex in Madison

As the Bama Buzz wrote about earlier this month, two Atlanta developers—Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC)—are working on a new luxury apartment community in Madison, Alabama. Located in the Huntsville metropolitian area, the apartment community will include 3 four-story residential buildings and a total of 290 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. And that’s not all. The development will include:
- 2 ground-floor retail spaces totaling 5,000 square feet.
- A resort-style swimming pool.
- A private co-working lounge.
- State-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga & spin room.
- A clubroom complete with a kitchen & fireplace.
- 483 surface parking spaces & 25 detached garages.

Novare Group and BCDC worked with Synovus Bank and Marble Capital to secure financing for the project. Doster Construction Company, who will be taking the lead as general contractor, plans to have the first units available for lease by Summer 2022.
2. Cheesecake Factory comes to Huntsville

It’s the moment many have been waiting for—The Cheesecake Factory is coming to Huntsville! The new Cheesecake Factory will be located in the former Cantina Laredo space in the popular Bridge Street Town Centre, and will be the second Cheesecake Factory location in the entire state! The Cheesecake Factory plans to open their Huntsville location by Winter 2021.
