Von Braun Center upgrades, + 17 more new high-dollar building permits in Alabama
Development in Alabama continues as this past week 18 new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million.
Here’s what we know about these new projects:
Von Braun Center upgrades
The priciest of this week’s building permits is a $15 million upgrade project at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. Turner Construction Corp. is the lead contractor for this project, which includes:
- Upgrades to the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, Playhouse and the Saturn Ballroom
- Building an extension to the back of the concert hall
- Enlarging the VBC kitchen
This project is expected to take a year to complete.
