Back to Auburn—5 new eateries for returning students to try

We’re officially in back-to-school season, and what better way to celebrate a new school year than with new eats? These four Auburn spots opened over the summer and are ready to fuel Auburn students—from early morning caffeine to late-night munchies.

1. Staks Auburn

For the early risers among us, Staks Kitchen has everything from Oreo praline pancakes to a Vegan Skillet available at 6:30AM every day. Their expansive breakfast, brunch and lunch menus are sure to satisfy every college students’ cravings.

2. 7 Brew

A popular drive-thru coffee stand arrived in Auburn this summer and gave back to the community at its grand opening. Serving up caffeinated drinks of all kinds from early in the morning to late at night, 7 Brew is a fun place to stop when you need a study session boost.

3. Mr. Gatti’s Pizza

After almost 20 years, the nostalgic pizza place is back in Auburn. Mr. Gatti’s Pizza opened at the end of July 2023, and locals are loving their pizza (and famous ranch) once again. Pizza is a college student staple, and Mr. Gatti’s is a new go-to with their pizza buffet.

4. Amsterdam Cafe

Amsterdam Cafe, a beloved spot known for “upscale dining in a casual atmosphere,” has not one but two new Auburn locations. Their North Auburn location, located on Shug Jordan Parkway, is now open, and their Moores Mill location, located on Ogletree Village Lane, will open soon.

5. Jack Brown’s

As we reported last fall, Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint has found a new home in Auburn. Located in the former Cheeburger Cheeburger spot on N College Street, Jack Brown’s started serving up their burgers—the best in the state, according to Far & Wide—in July 2023.
