Twelve new building permits were issued this past week across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of these, four are for projects in the Birmingham metro, while two are in North Alabama and the rest are mostly in the eastern part of the state.

New Fairfield + TownPlace Suites in Alabaster

Alabaster has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade, and to accommodate that growth, more retail and lodging options have been desperately needed.

Over the summer, City officials in Alabaster approved the proposal for the hotel, located at 1005 Balmoral Drive.

Here are some more details about the new Fairfield & TownPlace Suites:

The hotel will have about 130 rooms.
It will be located near the Promenade shopping center.
The project is expected to be complete by the fall of 2025.
Shree Akshar Inc. is the lead contractor on this project.
