This past week, seven new building permits were issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of these, all but one are for projects in North Alabama.

One of the priciest building permits so far this year was approved last week for a new office building at Redstone Gateway in Huntsville. Here’s more:

8500 Advanced Gateway to attract new defense contractors

Redstone Gateway has been an immensely successful development outside Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, housing multiple defense contractors, with more to come.

This latest project, 8500 Advanced Gateway, is a $25 million multi-story office building with 125,000 square feet of space. Brasfield & Gorrie is listed as the lead contractor, with the property managed by COPT Defense Properties.
