Multi-use development in North Alabama among new high-dollar building permits

This past week, 16 new building permits were issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits include 11 projects in North Alabama — one of which is for a multi-use development in Huntsville.

The Stadium Commons development, which is being built next to Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, will be a multi-use development that will include:

  • A 100-room hotel
  • 70,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space
  • 20,000 square feet of office space
  • 200 loft-style multifamily housing units 
  • A 408-space parking garage, 300 of which would be leased by the City of Huntsvilleto support events at John Hunt Park and Joe Davis Stadium

Brasfield & Gorrie is listed as the lead contractor on the $8.3 million building permit.
